Hey all you Jumbos and wannabe-Tufts kids! I'm Renee, otherwise known as blu, and I spent most of the college admissions process as a CC loser hanging around the Dartmouth board. Our board was recognized by most of the other boards as the best - but when decisions came out it pretty much fell apart. SO now that it's definitely Tufts '09 for me (wooHOO!) I'd like to bring this board to the hopping status that the D board once had. So I'm going to start a bunch of cool threads we can talk on.

sorry for double posting... I was just wondering how liberal tufts is as a university... I asked this question on another thread regarding the most liberal unis in the states... I thought that this would be a better place to ask this question as I would get more accurate response...

Well, Tufts is in MA, which is a traditionally liberal state. I think Tufts is a more liberal school than it is a conservative school. However, most people are not stereotypically liberal. There's a pretty active and vocal Republican and conservative community, albeit relatively small. As for the professors, I haven't had a problem with their political views, for the most part, they present all or most sides of a debate or issue and try as hard as they can not to let their own political views show in the classroom.

Just wanted to hello to the new incoming Jumbos and to say welcome to the family! As a corny as that sounds, once you experience tufts, even years down the road, you will always be a Jumbo.

You'll be suprised where you will find fellow jumbos years down the road!
