I say Hoos by 17 -14

It will be a defensive struggle.

Go Hoos!! Beat VT

Go Hoos!! Beat VT

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the game, which is probably the biggest UVA-VT match-up in quite a while. Killself?

I'm going and though I'd love nothing more than to see the Cavaliers win!--I don't think they will.
Vajanya Tech is and has been a real serious contender for years now. I think we're gonna get wooped. My Mom went to VT and she threatening to wear a hideous hokie shirt of hers. Blah; I, of course shall wear my pearls and some nice outfit to suit the game!
Oh well, I'm glad it's a home game and the weather is supposed to be nice and crisp! This will be a very fun game to attend.
Go Cavs!

Don't count the Hoos out yet...did you see the Miami game? This is a special team hoo make things happen.

the noon time slot is not good for students traveling. I was hoping I wouldn't have to head back until the afternoon but I guess an early drive is in order.

Yeah, but Miami doesn't really have the best reputation. The Cavs did look great though, and I liked your use of "hoo".
Wahoowa!
Oh, dang, I'm so dumb, I wasn't even thinking about the time of the game/driving there question. My folks are doing the driving, so I've been in an ignorant Thanksgiving-to-come bliss! Hah-ha! I'm OOS, and I'll be getting up early too Protean. Thanks for giving me an abrupt wake up!

Cav- that sucks. Nuff said.

As for the game, I think we'll win by no more than a touchdown and FG (10 points). If VT wins, it will be a landslide. But, honestly, I have no clue who really will win.
Question for those football know-it-alls: BC plays Clemson this weekend. If BC wins, it puts BC at 5-2, Clemson at 5-3. Then, if we beat VT, we'll be 7-1, VT will be 5-2. Does that mean we win the ACC overall, since no one can have 7 ACC wins, even if they play us in the championship?

Yes, it is early but this is the biggest UVA game in years. Not only is it against VT but also for the ACCCG!!!

Everyone be there early and be LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wahoowa

And when/where did they announce the noon time?

TheSabre.com - Football Message Board Home

I am not sure if it is official but it does seem like a reputable rumour.

VT has no real passing game, and we can stop Ore much better this year. However, we seem to have struggled with mobile quarterbacks this season, despite playing 3-4. If Taylor is on top of his game in that aspect he could give us a little trouble, much like Dasher and Lorenzen did. Of course, if VT goes through the air I think we have a pretty good chance for a big turnover or two like we saw last game.

I think even our running game will overcome VT's defense. One problem is VT's killer special teams, and how much our ST is less than mediocre. I'm afraid that the game might come down to a punt return for a TD. And there's always the chance that Sewell will throw the ball right at Flowers' face when trying to hit someone 10 yards away. What's awesome though is that we'll be coming into this game off our bye week.

Hoos will prevail!!! And to answer Shoebox 10

Hooever wins the UVA/VT game wins a place in the ACC championship game against the winner of the BC/CU game. That game will be played in the Gator Bowl on December 1st. The winner of that game will then go on to play in the Orange Bowl game on New Years.

If we can win out, we might get a rematch with UConn at a neutral site... we barely beat them at home

Maybe we'll get another shut-out at the "Orange Bowl", since it's really at Dolphin Stadium. :)
So the Gator Bowl and smaller bowls like that compete for the top 4 bowls (Fiesta, Orange, Rose, etc)?

The "Gator Bowl" game is actually a different game (and another possibility for UVA if they lose the ACC Championship game).

The game between the winners of BC/CU and UVA/VT will play in the ACC championship game on December 1st which takes place in Jacksonville, Florida in the Gator Bowl football stadium.

From what I remember, the Gator Bowl has changed, so it will go to the ACC No. 3. If we get to the ACC championship we're at least going to the Chick Fil A Bowl, if we lose to BC/Clemson.

Yes that is right. We should be in the Gator, Peach, Champs or Orange Bowl.

So...

Orange Bowl- we beat Tech and BC/Clem
Chick Fil A- we beat tech but lose to BC/Clem
Gator- Every other outcome
Champs- I don't think it's possible for us to be 4th place now?

Holy crud. Hahahahaha.

So, many of you know my whole transfer woes. Somewhere in the top #5 was "dangit, how am i going to survive a crummy football season?".

Obviously...this isn't an issue, and no matter how many people say UVA sucks at football, everyone knows we're the s#it simply because either a) we're just darn good or b) we pulled this entire season out of our butts. I'll take either =P

Actually, a better list would be:

Orange Bowl- we beat Tech and BC/Clem
Chick Fil A- we beat tech but lose to BC/Clem
Gator- Technically we're ACC No. 3 in every other outcome
Champs- We'd go here if Clemson loses to BC, we lose to VT, and Clemson beats South Carolina and Gator chooses them over us- unlikely situation overall
