Old edition of text (general, but specifically biopsych 202)

Hey guys,

I was wondering how many of you just get the old edition of the text due to finances. Next quarter will be my second at UW. I am taking biopsych 202 and want to do well since I plan to major in pscyh. The price difference between the fifth and sixth editions is quite large, so if anyone has taken the class I would appreciate some input. Also, providing the professor didn't write the book, is it acceptable to e-mail the professor asking if it is ok to get an older edition?

Thanks

Definitely email to ask. Also ask or find out if there is a copy on reserve at Odegaard. Sometimes if there’s a huge difference, I’ll still get the old edition, and then for the chapter(s) that are different, I’ll just either use or photocopy the ones on reserve. It is a little time consuming but books are so expensive. Also, sometimes if it’s not really a “text” book, Seattle public libraries will have the book and you can just check it out and keep renewing it for the ten weeks.
