[ul][li]ucla_cse's script[/li][*]UCLA Store: Textbooks[/ul]

thx for the reminder =]
works well except when UCLA has their custom editions with new ISBN #'s ><
example: "Young (New Low Price) Univ Physics (V 1&2) b** W/ssm & Mastering Ph" (9780536466044) for $182...

oh crud i need to order textbooks.

eww...

i hate this. i can't do the ISBN thingy and this one book has SOOOO many versions it makes my head spin...

The custom edition tends to just be some truncated version of the book without the unused chapters for the class, and most of the time, buying the full original edition of the book from some third party will still be cheaper than their custom edition

man, i hate new edition books.

7th edition psych book: cheapest is $75 used
6th edition: $5 plus shipping

gee i wonder which one i'll be getting

i love library course reserves. i can go in there for the 7th for free to look at hw problems, and read from the 6th, because how much can even change in a research methods book???

Here are the other options for finding ISBN#'s in case for whatever reason the Mozilla application is removed:[ul]
[li]allie's post in regards to LiveJournal [/li][*]Citan's post in regards to Mozilla and viewing forms[/ul]

so allie mentions finding the ISBN in the source code. which you do by right-clicking.

but how do you right-click or view source code on a mac?

Hold ctrl key and click on page.

oh! sweet!!!

deadline to order textbooks for pickup in ackerman is jan 2, at 7am.

just to pass it along :)

oooh thanks...i missed deadline last time

when i tried to order books online, i was not successful today:

i typed in my last name and UID then it didn't give me the list of books, quantity, etc... chart and it gave me "textbook selection." how do i go to the page i want?

also, last time i got that personalized page i want, i think they asked me for an email and password. would i type it in and have a chance to select an option to just reserve the books just to be picked up in the store, NOT SHIPPED?

if i still don't understand ordering online, do you think i'll be fine walking into the ucla txtbook store this coming saturday; would books be likely be sold out then?

Sold out? Are you kidding me?! Class doesn't even beginning until Monday! A lot of kids won't be back until Sunday night, I imagine. In the case that they did sell out, you can always go down the block to T-Plus and get something or better yet, order from half.com or ebay or amazon right now and save yourself the stress.

don't worry about selling out.

and the whole ordering for instore pickup is exactly what i was talking about. they still make you fill in the address fields, but you just select instore pickup as your type of shipping. but do it before 7am tomorrow.

i LOVE amazon!!! i figured out the ISBN in the source code and now i'm just like, F the ucla bookstore.

i can't find the ucla txtbook store hrs this coming saturday. anyone know??

are they normal hrs? (sry can't edit my last post).

not sure about their "normal" hours, but I got an email concerning my pickup:
"Orders for Winter Quarter 2008 will be available for pick up beginning on SATURDAY, JANUARY 5th. Pick up orders may be picked up during the following dates & times: SATURDAY - SUNDAY, JANUARY 5th to JANUARY 6th 12-5PM; MONDAY - FRIDAY, JANUARY 7-11, 9-5PM."

So I think they will be open 12pm-5pm this Saturday (at least) =o?

Yes, 5pm is the general closing time for the library, Murphy, and other UCLA stores/institutions for now. It's a safe bet to go between 12 and 4pm regardless.

Bring up my thread for Spring Quarter.
