I am an Out of state resident from Oregon with a 3.0 who knows NOBODY at ole miss, I know it's really competitive so I was wondering if there is any chance I could get into a sorority? If not, is ole miss still a fun party school even without Greek life?

Yes, Ole Miss is super competitive, and you will face some heavier cuts since you are out of shape. However, there are a lot of things you can do to make things a little easier.

-Get recommendations to EVERY house, two if you can. Any sorority member can write recommendations, so start asking your teachers, your parents, your family, any person you know, and have them ask their friends. I’d also look into a local Panhellenic chapter, as those tend to help girls that have trouble securing recs.

-When you get to campus, start making friends with sorority girls in your classes. Don’t be a creepy stalker, but if they know you when you’re coming through recruitment and have a positive image of you, it does help.

-On the flip side, don’t be the drunken idiot puking on the dance floor, because girls will find out your name and it isn’t pretty.

-KEEP AN OPEN MIND! I really can’t emphasize this enough. If you go into recruitment wanting only the 4 top chapters, you’ve already restricted your options dramatically. Be open to all chapters, as getting into any Ole Miss chapter is an achievement.

I would highly recommend going over to Greekchat, there are several full threads dedicated to Ole Miss recruitment. Ole Miss has a Pinterest account dedicated to each round and what to wear, and their website has a lot of good information.
