Olin business school

Hi i live in illinois and I'm going into business. I have already gotten accepted to UIUC which, according to US news, is tied with olin in terms of undergrad business. Is it worth it to go to washu when uiuc is way cheaper for me? Are there any advantages? Anyone know how good their job placement is?

Do you know for sure UIUC is so much cheaper? Depending on your EFC and the package offered to you from both schools, you might be surprised.

I live in illinois, so yeah its A LOT cheaper

My S has been accepted to Purdue, which is pretty much the same cost as UIUC for in-state tuition. He was also accepted to Bradley. His package to Bradley makes it equal in price to Purdue. WUStL gives much more aid to students than Bradley does. If they offered the engineering program my son wanted, he'd brobably be going there. I'd say if your parents make <$100k, WUStL might be pretty close in price. Much over and you start weighing the cost difference against what you find important.

You haven't said what you want in a college - small, large, urban, etc. WUStL and UIUC are very different in personality.

I prefer large and urban. I've visited UIUC and honestly, I dont like the campus all that much, its kind of in the middle of the nowhere and the buildings are old. I hvaent visted washu but from what i heard, its gorgeous, and by st louis. So campus wise i like WashU. Moneywise and academicwise...I dont know

UIUC isn't the most attractive campus we've been on. If S can get the out-of-state tuition waiver he may decide to go there though. He does like it more than the Purdue campus. His two favorite visits as far as ashtetics go were WUStL and Vandy. Wash has a fantastic campus. St. Louis will definitely have more going on than CU, that's for sure.

You'll get a great education at whichever you choose. UIUC might have the edge in corporate recruitment and networking simply because of the size of the school and the Big 10/11 affiliation certainly doesn't hurt.
