Olin Business School?

So right now I'm torn between going to WashU and Maryland. WashU is nicer, gives a better education, has brighter ppl, and costs so much more than Maryland. My parents say that if I go, we have to be more aware of our purchases and that I may have to take on as much as $20000 in debt when i graduate (but prolly less).
If I go to Maryland (i think the business school is called "smith"), i'd pay $7000/yr, could ease the financial burden on my family, graduate debt-free, and could take more low-paying internships or study abroad programs, but the atmosphere isnt as nice, and the college town is terrible, the campus is huge, and i feel like i probably wouldnt be as motivated to work as hard.

My parents tell me that I shouldnt make money the deciding factor in my decision, and that i should pick the school where im happiest, but i'd feel so horrible if i threw away all that money for maryland and it turns out washu isnt worth it. So in terms of education, job placement, environment, etc, do you think olin is worth the money?

thanks so much!

im no expert. but i do know wash u (olin) is def worth 20k ....

It sounds as though you're convinced Wash U is a much better fit for you. If so, $20,000 is a small sacrifice for what the four years there will mean. I wouldn't let this sum dictate what otherwise seems a clear-cut decision.

WashU is a a top 20 business school and when I visited, I was very impressed. Go with WashU and take on a little debt. You will be happier there.
