Omg Common App

OK, I have a US Dual citizenship, meaning i have a US citizenship and a south african citizenship. on the common app, it asks:

please fill in ur citizenship status

I respond with US dual citizen. As a result of this selection, two new questions appear.

a.) List ur non-US citizenships

I put South Africa.

b.) If you are not a us citizen, but live in the united states, how many years have u lived in the U.S.?

This is where i run into trouble. Obviously I am a US citizen if i selected us dual citizenship, but there is no "I am a citizen" answer. It is a required field, and the only possible answers are numbers ranging from 1-20. I've lived in the US my whole life, so at first I put the number 17 (my age). But when I read over the question, I realized that this question should only be answered by non-us citizens, but seeing that it's required, i have no choice but to answer it.

My question is: What do i do? If I put my age, theyll assume im not a us citizen. I can't put nothing so that's out of the question.

ANy ideas?

buuuuuuuuump

Call or e-mail the Common App folks and ask.

alright that works

SandyRun, did you figure out an answer? I'm a dual citizen too, and I have the same problem!! I think I'll just put down US Citizen if all else fails.
