How Many Years have you lived in the US?

I'm a dual citizen, and so I was looking at this question and wondering how to respond to it. My birthday is in the period between mid December and late december, and i was wondering if i submitted the application before my birthday if that date would then need to be fixed after my birthday passed even though I already submitted. How do I answer this question? This question confuses me.

P.S. as a complete side note, I was insulted beyond belief when the common app. asked me this question. I am a 100% American, born and raised, and don't consider myself in anyway non-related to this country that I was born in, grew up in, and have done everything in. The fact they ask me a question like that even though I never lived anywhere except the US insults me beyond belief. It's like asking any born-and-raised American randomly on the street "hey u how long have u lived in the US." Seriously, ***. Little rant there.

lol, I don't think it really matters, just put something close. so I guess however old you are right now.

funny thing is, I've lived in the US before, but not currently, so I was puzzled whether to put anything or not. Decided to leave it blank since they probably don't care if I've lived there. it also annoyed me that I had to fill out what type of american citizenship I had even though I don't have one, duh -__-
