Omg! Missed The Last Page!

Well, I thought I did pretty good on the SATs today and on the final section, the 10 minute section, I thought I was finished so I closed the booklet and laid back. During the last minute before time was up, I took a look at the booklet again and flipped the page - realizing to my horror that there were still 4 questions on the back. By the time I even was able to read one of the questions, time was up.

My God... How will this affect my score? Will it drop it significantly? Possibly 50 point drop?

Anyone have a clue?

The curve on the writing section multiple choice could be tough. The first time I took the test in December of last year, I only got 3 wrong (4 points off), and it dropped to a 71 (from 80), which is a 9 point swing for the multiple choice. Depending on the curve, those 4 points can knock your final score off anywhere between 40-100 points.

in the jan 06 SAT, i think the curve for the MC was like 80, 77, 75, 73, 71... so if those four questions are the only raw points you lose, then it could lower your MC score by 9 pts. if you missed other questions, then the curve might be more generous. ironically, i think the more questions you miss overall, the less of an impact those 4 questions will have. In terms of the essay, by pure speculation, i think a 12 could raise your MC score by 40-50 pts overall for your writing score, an 11 maybe 20-30, a 10 0-10 pts, 9 could keep MC the same or lower it by 10, 8 a decrease of perhaps 20-30, ....

best case scenario: MC score of 71 and an essay with a score of 12 might be a 750 of 760, with some luck...

4 questions...

I didn't know that they deducted points for ommited answers, or maybe i'm thinking PSATs

karupt...i feel for you.

and i thought i messed up..

lol man, the same thing happened to me when I took the SAT for the first time.
yea, but my score was pretty bad, (not just due to that last page) but overall, I sucked in writing.
But it would bounce back up later.
My advice, it makes a difference. hopefully you have the chance to retake it.

omg dude i did the same thing. i finished the first ten in 7 min and sat for literally 2 min twiddling my thumbs and fartin about. 1 min left i realize the section was 10 MINUTES long not 10 QUESTIONS. flip the page and voila! I did 13 first b/c it was shortest, 12 next, 11 i rushed through, and 14 i did during the collection process :( none were done well. 17s avg per question on them basically but i wanted a good score

GIMEurSTRESBALLZ EXACTLY!

For some odd reason, it was a ten minute section and so the two pages I saw were 10 questions. It's like some subconscious affect, I didn't even look back.
However, for me, I had 10 seconds to do 4 problems... I didn't even bother, I spent those 10 seconds coming back from a near-faint.

There's no chance of retaking...this is my last try. Well, at least I won't lose any points... sigh.

Now all I can do is to pray... maybe this is a sign, maybe God is just having fun with me and will later show me a 1900+. OH GOD please tell me your playing with me.

Now I'm getting dillusional. I think it's because I didn't get any sleep last night - too much pressure and stress; kept on thinking about the test. No sleep + four hours of test = screwed.

I always keep turning pages until I see "STOP". And at the start of each CR section I always turn right to the back to see how many passages there are.

I believe something like this happend to me as well the first (and only, so far) time I took the SATs in June. I thought that it said 10 questions, so I took my time and relaxed. Then I realized that there were more questions on the back and went full speed ahead on them and answered them all. Still a scary moment though...

Oh man. Well at least you know you missed some. I'm all paranoid now.

Well I wish you luck and I hope the curve is good...
