Ok. so my interviewer and I have ben trying to set up an appointmnt for bout a month now.. but we have never been able to quite get each other.. something always got into the way.. anyway, she finally called me tody.. and I answered.. she seemed sinerely shocked that she had finally reached me..

Anyway, we spoke.. and we set up our appointment.. at the end.. she said "these folks seem to be REALLY interested in you so I am excited tomeet you?" .. Isticntly, I said "Oh my, really?!" and she said "yes, very interested"..Iwas so excited.. I hung up the phone and started dancing.. lol!!

Have ADcoms already looked over the apps?? Should I take this as good news? I don't want to count my baby chicks before they hatch, but surely her sentiments old some power... I am so stoked!

I had 2 other interviews with Ivy Leagues.. none of them said anything along the lines of the school seems to be really interested me in me so they're excited to meet me.. It would also be a little unethical for her to lie about something like that, and surely she would have no reason to.. so I believe that she's speaking the truth..

^hmm that's reasonable. well if it's true then CONGRATS!! woot not that it's an acceptance or anything but yeah i sure would be happy. good luck in ur interview :P

Thans! I'm goig to prpare for this one.. the last 2 I did nt prepare for.. but I got he the feeling that the interviewers loved me.. I hope everything goes well :D

Maybe it is because they really want to get the interview done and over with. Adcoms have already looked at apps and I would wager that most applicants have had their interview...I think you should only take a likely letter as good news.

I know that it doesn't mean anything close to an automatic acceptance, but surely this is something I can ake to release my anxiety.. Perhaps I will ask her about it again.. just for some reassurance, lol.

There is a policy at Harvard that the ADCOMs tell nothing to the interviewer before the interview except the name, school, and contact information. This is the first that I have heard anything differently.
What do you feel is special about your application that prompted this (besides good grades/test scores.

They better have. It's less then five weeks to D-Day, and they have 27,000 apps to look at.

It's not bad news, but don't let your hopes get carried away. In my daughter's case we got a frantic letter in mid-March from the finaid office saying that they were missing a form and we needed to rush it out to them immediately. I thought to myself "Hmm...Harvard is getting ready to accept her." And a couple of weeks later, they did just that. But in between I played down her chances just in case the two incidents weren't connected.

To "red remote": to be honest with you, I don't know what it is. I am heavily involved in volunteer service. I've done several missionary trips and have raised thousands of dollars for various causes.

To echo smartguy907, the admissions committee has probably been trying to secure and interview with you for some time now, causing them to hassle the interviewer about your application repeatedly (hence their "interest".) I wouldn't get my hopes up over something like this...

I'm pretty sure interviewers say all types of things to students if they like them. My interviewer has been doing this for 20+ years and told me that she couldn't see Harvard not accepting me and how I was the most interesting student she'd ever interviewed. But my application is just about average and I can't see how she would have any idea about my chances.

I haven't had my interview yet so I don't see what reasons she would have to like me.

And to the few who said "she's telling you this because Harvard has been hassling her to get your interview done". My friend was called by her interviewer and he said he would report to the school that she's no longer interested because she had failed to contact him. The interview isn't mandatory, so I see no reason for them "hassling" her.

And to jpereira.. poor grammar? Excuse me? I am sorry I don't feel the need to express my thoughts eloquently on a message board. I would appeciate it if you and all 3 of your posts crawled back into the little hole from which you came.

I am going to ask my interviewer why she feels as though Harvard is interested in me.. just to clarify.

This message bad is littered with such pessimistic and demeaning trifles.
