Omitting college transcripts

does the financial aid office pay any attention to this on the SAR?

i went to a college and received a small aid package and paid it off, i am applying to a new school for a new program (I am not using any of the classes)...and i found out that the SAR will have the school i got my previous aid from way back in 1994.

Will the financial aid office notice that I didn't report this school on my admission to the college or are they more concerned with defaulted student loans?

I just want a fresh start after 12 years of growing up.

I would appreciate it if someone would reply that has actually worked in a fin aid office and is very familiar with how this information is passed around.

You must submit your transcripts from all schools which you have attended to not do so would be considered blatant misrepresentation and grounds for immeadiate dismissal at what ever school you would eventually be admitted to. Your degree can be rescinded after graduation leaving you with a worthless piece of paper.

Yes your financial aid information will come up especially if you have received any monies from the federal gov't loans, grants.

This is why you would use your essay/ personal statement to demonstrate how you have grown and you are not the same person you were years ago.

Pick up the phone and call the person you met with at the new school and ask what to do about your law school transcript. If the subject matter isn't pertinent to your new degree field, the grades probably won't matter at all when it comes to your admissibility. However, the registrar will probably need to have that ugly transcript on file just because of paperwork rules.

Believe me, if you saw my BA transcript, you'd never think I would have been able to get into grad school at all, let alone the one that did! That admission was based on post-bac undergraduate work at an entirely different university in an entirely different subject area. And none of that, of course, is remotely related to the graduate work I'm doing now.

from nietzsche fan:

i submitted information on all of my undergrad transcripts, but omitted to state i attended law school for one year. i did breathe a word of my law school experience when i spoke with the admission director or when i was interviewed by the progr director. i believe they dont count the gpa of professional school but still i dont want to submit such info. will they find out?

nietzsche fan, they will probably find out. In this internet age, there are very few secrets.
