On behalf of all of us current students: CONGRATS AND WELCOME!

musingmiyu and JDarps,

Let me see if I can know out two birds with one stone...Davis definitely is a rural area, but trust me when I say there is plenty to do here!! People drive over the highway and look out at "Davis," some big field on the way to Sacramento. Well, you can't see downtown Davis from the highway. It's a really cool place with plenty going on. Welcome to a true college town.

The academic reputation of UC Davis is very strong - a very well respected university. The social life here is awesome too - just a bunch of chill people that want the best of what college has to offer.

If you have any specific questions, I'll try my best to answer them. But until then, consult the Wiki ;-)

The wiki is a godsend, such an amazing website..

^^ What he said :-D

i hear many things about how Davis is really really beautiful (especially the campus itself). i got accepted into the Undeclared/exploratory program (college of agricultural and environmental sciences) and i was just wondering if i can switch out of that undeclared status and go into Computer Science and Engineering (because that's what i really want to do (since i want to become an animator/game designer)).

Divine Vinny, if that's what you truly want to do and have already made up your mind that you want to go to Davis, then you need to contact the UC Davis Engineering department now rather than later and request to switch immediately.

Davis is a nice looking campus. It is beautiful because of the manmade park on campus called the Arboretum which is 3.5 miles long. It also has a cool lake. The campus was built on what used to be a forest, and part of the forest still remains.
