On Campus Apartments

I'm transferring this fall to UCR, and I'm currently on the waitlist for the apartments. I selected Stonehaven as my first choice, Falkirk as second, and Oban as third. I submitted my request yesterday (4/13) and was wondering if anyone knows the odds of getting in. Also, if anyone has any input on the apartment life or suggestions as to which apartment building is better, that would be appreciated.

You’ll probably have a fairly good shot at getting an apartment. Some students end up canceling their contracts for a lot of different reasons. If it comes down to you not getting a UCR apartment, there are a lot of off campus apartments that are really close to school.

Apartment life is ok, it’s nothing spectacular. Not many residents show up to the events so it makes it harder to meet people. If you get a roommate, hopefully he/she will be cool. Stonehaven, Falkirk, and Oban are probably the best campus apartments, besides Glen Mor. If you get any of those, you’ll be fine. The worst one is Bannockburn because it’s the oldest apartment.

Thank you for the input. I just got an offer today for Stonehaven  Do you know what the policies are about bringing guests, or where I can find some info about their rules and policies? Thanks.

Congrats! The rules and policies used to be on housing.ucr.edu, but for some reason I can’t find it. They do have rules about bringing guests, but no one in the apartments follows or enforces it. It’s really no big deal to have guests over, unless it’s in the areas where you have to share with roommates.

I found it! Thank you though.
