Hey guys,
I just found out that I got off the waitlist for housing and was assigned a dorm room. I'll need to trade residential colleges though. On the other hand, I'm almost done with my apartment search and have the option of affordable, alright off campus living.

Would you guys recommend I take the on campus offer? Is living on campus worth the extra cost? Is it an experience I should have? (I can go off campus next year, and my fifth year)

Some background: 20 year old jr transfer, has previously lived in a house with housemates

This is not even a question. Take the on-campus housing. Period.

Depends on what college you’re transferring from and to.

Definitely take the on campus housing for the experience!!

Will Rice to Hanszen.

Take the housing. I promise that you won’t regret it.

Live on campus at least one year - the on-campus life is awesome. Afterwards, definitely move on campus because you save much more money that way.

If you want to emerge yourself in the whole residential college experience, it’s crucial to live on campus. However, if you’re really concerned about saving money and living quality, I have to say Hanszen does not offer the best living quality as a housing option.
