Hi
I am on H4 dependent visa in USA and would like apply for under graduate in engineering, in my present state where i live , I am not considered as resident. I would like to what are best Universities in USA where i can study with minimum fee with scholarships.
I got more than 2000 in SAT and GPA will be 4 in high school. Please mention me the universities which are good in mechanical engg or Computer Science, where I can finish my Undergraduate with minimum cost , What are options for financial aid/scholarship are available for international students who are living in USA. Are there any Non profit Organizations or Educational foundations who can help me. you can mail me abcd545@gmail.com

For merit scholarships, you need to have decent Math+CR scores. What do you have?
Also, how much can you pay per year? With your current stats, top tiers are out ( sorry, but that’s the reality)

@abcd545 if you have an SAT score with cr+m=>1300 then you can qualify for merit scholarships in Howard university

If the OP has 1500 CR+math, UW GPA 3.8+ then he/she can get tuition, room, board, book voucher in Howard. However I don’t think Howard University has particularly good M. Eng department.

U of Alabama and UAH have pretty good engineering department, though. Also, 2500/year extra scholarship for engineering students!

U of Alabama application deadline for scholarships is 15 December. You need to hurry if you plan on applying.

Never mind UAH-deadline is over…
If you plan on howard U, do it ASAp

Start with this thread. Follow the links to information about the various colleges and universities, and check each of them to find out if the scholarships discussed apply to international students. Some do. <a href=“Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums;

You also need to speak with your guidance counselor, and find out if the state where you are living considers you in-state for tuition and fees at public colleges and universities. Some states do that for H visa holders.
