Where to apply?

My Stats:
SAT: 1920 (M-700, W-620, R-600)
TOEFL: 99
GPA: 10/10 in my country. So, it should be 4.0 .
Extra curricular activities: Mediocre

Where should I apply?

Firstly, I would love to study in a Computer related subject(eg. computer science, computer engineering, IT, computer programming) or a Business related subject with a minor in computer science.
Secondly, the currency of my country is very weak against US Dollar. So, I'll need a generous financial package in scholarship or aid.
Thanks in advance.

Where are you from?

Your SAT isn’t super bad, but based on your EC, which you described as Mediocre, and your SAT, it will be VERY difficult to get in top tier schools with Financial aid. Plus, except 6 schools, you applying for FA will count against you.

If you are thinking about scholarship and computer/engineering I think University of Alabama or UA at Huntsville will be good options for you, in fact these are the schools that offer pretty good CS and engineering AND offer good scholarships.

UA, if you have at least 3.5 GPA and at least Math+CR 1280~1400+, you will get from partial to full tuition. Deadline is 12/15.
At UAH, since you have perfect GPA and MAth+CR 1300, you will get 67% OOS tuition waiver for 4 years. Deadline is 12/1
Why don’t you ask to each school whether they will be able to accept December SAT/ACT score, if you can retake?
If you have 1330 at UAH or 1400 at UA, you will get full tuition merit scholarship.

Other school I can think of is Howard University. It provides 1400 CR+MAth with 3.5 GPA, full tuition+room+board+500$ book voucher.

I’m from Bangladesh, A small country in southeast Asia.
I said mediocre ECs as most of the posts I saw in CC have LONG list of ECs, where my ECs mostly consist of community services.
Retaking SAT in December is out of option because we don’t have late registration option available for SAT in my country.

How much can you pay per year?

Around 7~10K…

It seems Howard University is a good option for you in term of fin aid. You can’t get full tuition at the other two since your SAT isn’t high enough.
@MYOS1634, do you have other suggestions?

Anyone from India, Pakistan and Bangladash will face stiff competitions from the area and US colleges normally lump all these into one category and compare. You need a LOT of aid and your score is not nearly enough to get in even the second tier schools for that kind of aid. Other than Howard as noted by paul, perhaps those automatic scholarship schools, leaded by Alabama and such. You won’t even be competitive with Berea.

Berea, perhaps Truman State.
Look at the financial forum , there’s a “pinned” thread at the top where they have a link to all the threads with scholarship possibilities and “low cost” options.
