On the Duke decisions check place...

did anyone else get a white box with “Submission Status: Not Submitted”
i had all of my things in before they were due and received the email from Christoph Guttentag telling me all of my application materials had been received… any ideas?

^ YOU ALL COULD JUST BE THE BORDERLINE APPLICANTS!

yes. I’m shouting :P

or NO CORRELATION ( I really hope that’s it. We’ll find out tomorrow)

ryanh126 and An0nmity, why don’t you guys call ApplyYourself tech support and pose as an admissions officer. You could ask a lot of questions!

Have we discounted the virginity theory?

Yes, obviously they can’t upload 25k or whatever the number is decisions at the same time but the true question is as to why some were uploaded later as opposed to earlier. In other words, how did they decide to upload certain decisions sooner than others? I’m assuming that Duke sent some sort of list that had all the applicants’ decisions on it to the third party provider and the third party provider simply uploaded them in the order Duke sent them but were the decisions inputted into that list done randomly at the end or were they done as the decisions were finalized? I think that the clear admits + clear rejects were put in first with the first applications debated thoroughly in committee (those who weren’t clear admits but were still very strong or those who weren’t clear rejects but were still rather weak) and then those whose decision was uploaded at 5:35 were those who were truly borderline applicants whose admissions decision was decided upon very close to decision day. As such, the times can’t really tell us much unless someone has a very very strong application or a very very weak application and his/her upload time was 1:16.

Jacko’s virginity theory seems to be plausible, any speculations?

I can’t log-in at all now. Maybe they heard about the CC’ers talking like a bunch of silly chickens.

EDIT: Just logged-in. Forgot to capitalize a letter. Whoops.

I can log in.

I just logged in, also.

even though it’s kind of irrelevant, the company that uploads the decisions is called Hobsons…

though i’m a 535 and probably bias, theres no way a third party would organize it into accepts and rejects

is it a coincidence that ‘Hobsons’ is also at the bottom of CC?

hey which schools are WUSTL ?? just wondering.

it’s one school: Washington University in St. Louis

^^OMG that is so strange!!! Hobsons conspiracy…

Sir Hobson is watching over all of us and laughing maniacally right now.

Duke is losing 35-32 against Baylor…

was watching that ^. Quite cool to think that we are going ot hear from that place in 24 hours

^ It’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOO intense…and I don’t even LIKE basketball, lol!

EDIT: isn’t there some sort of prediction if duke loses?

Duke will pull it out. They’re a second half team. Plus, they’ve got more experience and composure.
