once i get accepted. am i able to attend whenever i want

i am planning on joining the coast guard after high school and before i do that i want to see if i can get accepted to the schools i am interested in. So that after my years in service i can go to the schools i have gotten accepted too.

i have been thinking to join the coast guard for many years. recently i started thinking about going to college. since the gi bill can help pay for schooling.

At some schools you can defer enrollment for up to a year. You cannot hold off entering college indefinitely. Talk with a coast guard recruiter to see if you can go to college while serving in the reserves, or what educational opportunities are available. If the guard offers programs, you would be limited to what colleges you can attend.

If you want to go to college and be in the coast guard, I’d think about the United States Coast Guard Academy. You’d can be in the Coast Guard and get a college education at the same time! Here is a link:

FYI, the USCGA is one of THE MOST DIFFICULT institutions in the United States to be admitted to.

@TopTier, you are correct but it’s something that the OP can think about!

OP isn’t someone who could be accepted at USCGA
