One Aspect Of

If you had been applying to colleges again, what is the ONE thing you would want the admissions office to focus on the most? to pay more particular attention on?
i.e. GPA? an extracuricular? SAT score?

Most? GPA
Least? I can't pick one. SAT/ACT and Extracurriculars. It's not my fault if I feel like I want to be a hermit with straight A's. And standardized testing is the DEVIL!

why GPA?
i didnt ask for least haha...

The fact that I kick ass.

most - essays, then HS GPA/SAT (i didnt do too shabby on my SATs, soo haha), then college GPA (but based on major)
least - college ECs, college courseload (i say 14-16 should be fine)

i wish they didn't even count the SAT's, its a stupid ass test that doesn't really do a great job defining ability, especially if you can afford to take a class that helps you do well in it. I wish they looked at your essays, what you do, and how much of a leader you are, and then, last and least what your grades are. It's about balance not numbers. At least that way, you won't get these people that sit in their rooms playing WoW and doing school work all the time and contribute nothing to the social atmosphere of the university.

Most: SATs

Because I did well on them and my first 3 semesters of high school weren't too great, which hurt my GPA and rank.

GPA is a better all around basis of how somebody does, I think. If you have a really great GPA, but then wake up sick on SAT day or your dog died on SAT test day, then chances are you're going to do crappy. Besides, for most of us, it's only testing you on English and math! What if you had B's in English and Math, but science/history was your thing?
I just think that the SATs are all around unfair to those who aren't good in English and/or math.

Haha, sorry about replying for least. It was 1 am. I wasn't entirely awake :-X

I agree with punkdudeus. High SAT scores is also an indication of the lengths people go to take extra classes in order to do well in them. Other people that are financially less advantage will have less opportunities to participate in these outside activities and as a result cause them not to do as well.
