One Big Problem...

Hey everyone, I'm a high school junior at a very competitive high school wondering about my chances at getting into any of the ivy's. I have a legacy at Columbia.

GRADES:
2040 SAT: 750 Reading, 680 Writing, 610 Math; all from sophomore year without studying.
GPA: 3.74 UW, 4.0 weighted
AP Euro, 4 on the AP test. Also took chemH, B 1st semester, A second.
Taking AP English, APUSH, AP Seminar, AP Physics
I'm committed to getting a 4.0 this semester.

EXTRACURRICULARS
Rowing, 2nd place at youth nationals sophomore year, 2nd at regionals freshman year.
Peer Mentor
Room to Read club president
Applying for school honor society
CSF Tutor

Pretty strong all around. My big problem comes from Chinese 2nd semester. Amongst A's in all other classes, I got a C in Chinese.

So, as harsh as they may be, what are my chances? Thanks for reading!

You have a legacy which is always helpful but both your grades and your SAT results are pretty low for ivys (not trying to be overly harsh just realistic.)
Are you still rowing? could you be recruited for rowing?

If you are a junior you also have time to get those SAT results up so I would focus on that as well.

Your crew will get you in, but your SAT and GPA is low for most of the ivy’s.

I’m definitely still rowing and plan to take the SAT again for sure. How would it look if I can get my SAT’s up say, a couple hundred points by studying?
