One GRAMMAR

In the novel, Jane Eyre must make many difficult choices, LIKE WHEN SHE FORCES herself to leave the house of Mr. Rochester, the married man she loves.

a. LIKE WHEN SHE FORCES (keep as is)
e. INCLUDING FORCING

Why is A wrong? Why is E right?

the clause has to be a difficult choice that she made.

a isn’t logical because it isn’t a choice that she made, it’s an event.
e is logical, her forcing herself was her choice

also, if you really want to get technical, the choice has to be a noun. like when she forces doesn’t match and including forcing does. it’s a kind of weird parallelism.

it would help if you put the other answers when you ask these grammar questions, it helps give a better feel for what’s being asked so we can help you more.

piratebay, are we working together???

I deleted the other answers because I know why those answers are wrong. But thank you for the response :)
