Homeless People
% of grads who own their own home, 25%, 63%

What in the world? Why even bother copying the numbers from a site like that? In the rest of the thread, you should just make them up. They're at least as likely to be accurate.

Let's see what I can come up with:
Number of pigeons per cubic kilometer at Harvard: 317

Feel free to join your many compatriots on the Harvard board; it's a busy place. Seems to me that the purpose of the public boards is defeated if students at one school only talk to one another; you could do that in person, or on your listserv.

Besides, if you never bother with other schools, what could possibly interest you in a "comparison" thread?

Well seeing as how Byerly makes all of our threads celebrating Princeton into P vs. H comparison threads I don't choose to get involved most of the time. I just thought this was a funny spoof. And since I do live in my insular orange pton board bubble, I pretty much read all the threads here.

I just find that most of the time the threads on specific schools' boards are school-specific, and if I wanted to talk to other students I go to College Life or the cafe, etc.

Zantedeschia: I have become what I am because of just one person. If Byerly promises to behave I will stop this nonsense. He thinks that by degrading other schools, he might be able to discourage some prospective students to not apply. But, by posting randomly he has developed a reputation - even kids despise him. I have enough junk for keeping this thread alive till the application season ends and if that keeps him out - good (my garbage might pursuade some kids too).

As I said again, I don't want to continue with this garbage, and will stop if Mr. B behaves. I will even request the mods to lock up or delete this thread.

All schools are great, all kids are great. If kids take advantage of the opportunities at any place they will have a better, wonderful and fullfiling life. In less than 5 years after graduation which class ring or t-shirt you wear may not mean anything. Your worth will be judged by what you bring to the table either to the corporation or to the society or to your family.

I have read your posts and you write with quite a maturity for a 18 year old.

Hanna: Don't be mad

I think we should all behave in the spirit this board was created. To provide help and directions. Discussions about my color or town is better or you can't come to my school because you are dumb has no place.

Yea it's a shame how one person can really influence your opinion of a whole institution. Like how tour guides really affected how I saw a school when I was visiting. I have some friends going to Harvard though (my fellow pton EDer Kebree being one of them) so I don't think my perception is that tainted...

I have never "degraded" any school. That is absolutely absurd. I have never urged, or discouraged, any potential applicant to apply - or not to apply - anywhere.

My principal aim on this site is to post accurate statistics to which I have access. There are a shocking number of innacurate stats and other data that are bandied about here.

And unlike some other posters here, I am not trying to make a buck off any of the potential applicants.

Byerly, you are perfectly within your right to post "accurate" statistics. However, oftentimes they are not needed nor does the thread's topic require them. A Y v. P thread doesn't need Harvard boosterism, now does it?

I have no patience with "boosterism" of any sort - for any college. Often, any data I post, including admissions numbers, rankings by various organizations, etc., is for the sole purpose of undercutting baselees or dubious claims made by "boosters."

Simba, I'm not sure what kind of an online e-thing you're referring to... If you meant, did I chat with her online, yes. If you mean, did we date, then I would have to say...umm she's a girl and I'm not into that. :p
Perhaps you are referring to legendofmax, with whom I have a real-life "thing" now :)

Simba wants his son to pass on his genes. I think he will be fine, but if that really was a top priority you could have chosen a school like Williams instead.
