One Last Chance (UCs, UT, UF, UMD) Will Chance Back!

<p>Hey everybody, I have been finishing up my apps and nervously waiting for any admissions letters, and I was wondering if anybody would like to chance me for any of these schools. Im listing all of them, but any info you have about any of them is appreciated.</p>

<p>UCs- UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCSC
Florida- UF, FSU, U of Miami
Random Schools- CU Boulder, UGA, U Maryland, **UT<a href="thats%20my%20number%20one%20school">/b</a></p>

<p>**Here's some past info about me. <a href="Note:%20I%20live%20in%20CA">/b</a></p>

<p>Unweighted GPA-3.43</p>

<p>Weighted GPA- around 3.5</p>

<p>SAT single sitting- 620 reading, 800 math, 730 writing-2150 Composite</p>

<p>SAT superscore- 670 reading, 800 math, 730 writing-2200 Composite</p>

<p>**SAT II **Math - 710 Literature - 710</p>

<p>ACT- 34 math, 35 writing, 35 reading, 35 science- 35 Composite</p>

<p>Class Rank-School doesnt rank but if I had to guess I would say definitely top quarter, possibly top 10 percent</p>

<p>ECs are pretty weak, During baseball season in my town I umpire the little league baseball games (past 2 years), also was a counselor in training for a summer camp for a year</p>

<p>Jobs- work over the summer at a screen-printing business, past 3 years.</p>

<p>And my grades for this semester (not finished yet)</p>

<p>AP Calculus - C
AP Physics - B+ or A- (hopefully an A by the end of the semester)
English - A
AP Art History - B+ (should be an A by the end of the semester)
Economics - A</p>

<p>Thanks for the compliment. Actually though I’d consider that SAT score pretty good for UCLA too. My math and writing scores are higher than their top 75% and my reading is right around 75 %. </p>

<p>Any other help is appreciated!</p>

<p>I I think that you have a good shot at all of the school that you applied to except UCLA.</p>

<p>I would say most are matchs or low reachs for you, although UCLA may be a bit of a struggle.</p>

<p>Thanks for any info, and if anyone has more specific stuff on UT that would be really helpful. I’m so nervous about that one.</p>

<p>I know for UT, GPA is the biggest factor, and for OOS that is a little low…BUT because of the new 8% rule, OOS acceptances have doubled from last year.</p>

<p>Yeah I know my GPA is my weak point, I just hate doing school work. Hopefully my test scores help, and that is great news about the 8% rule.</p>

<p>Your ACT is GREEAT!
definitely submit that it is significantly better than your SAT.
Since you live in CA, I think you have really good chances into getting into most of your UCs.
And I think you have a really good shot at some of the other schools, especially UT.
Try to take up a couple more ECs and bump up your GPA as much as you can.

<p>You’ll stand out with those SAT, SAT II and ACT scores. You’ll most likely get into all of the schools listed with the exception of UCLA which is a tossup. UCLA seems to love students with really high GPAs, but your test scores could very well compensate.</p>

<p>Hey–I might have some info on the Florida schools…</p>

<p>UF–A lot of people on here seem to be under the impression that UF is easy to get into; it is not. It only accepts 37% of its applicants, and though it’s a big school… Tons apply. The thing is your GPA. Most UF students have a minimum of a 3.8 weighted. Your SAT scores are great, but UF also likes to see a lot of ECs, so I think that you have a decent shot.</p>

<p>USF–Again, a big misconception school. They’re becoming more selective and climbing the national rankings because of it. However, your SAT is still the saving grace and I don’t think that they’re as selective as UF, so you have a good shot with this one. They really love good test scores there.</p>

<p>U of Miami–Again, your GPA is kind of weak for this one. They also take ECs into high consideration over there, so I’m not sure how that will pan out. Then again, they’ll love the work experience over there and if you have good recommendations, things might pan out. Take into account that their acceptance rates are barely higher than UF’s, so don’t feel bad if you don’t get into either one of those. (Again, I think you have a decent shot at both, and a really good one at USF.)</p>

<p>I agree with what everyone here has said … you have great test scores and a somewhat good GPA too … </p>

<p>so you have a solid chance at all your universities… I don’t specifically know all the universities that well but from the looks of it your profile is good</p>

<p>maybe try to get a few more EC’s?</p>
