One of the things I hate about going to a Catholic school

We have to write an essay for religion class about the three people that allowed us to reach a better understanding of God

I have no clue what to write, seeing as how I'm agnostic and really don't care about religion.

^ Do you also have to pray three times a day?

You have my deepest sympathies. But it's perfectly easy to BS an essay and get at least a 90 percent.

So write about people who helped you come to that belief. There must be some reason or person who helped steer or form your agnostacism. Not believing is "your" understanding of God. You didn't say the assignment had to talk about your "Catholic" understanding of God.

Yeah that's definitely one of those papers you'll just have to BS. I hate those too.

It's religioun class. Doesn't count for anything. We had to do a posterboard and make a collage about our religious life, I just drew a big X through it and the teacher didn't count it towards my grade. I couldn't care less if he did, however, because religion class doesn't count.

Good luck.

I failed my Bible class in the 9th grade.

i used to go to a top private all girls catholic school.. that was all through elementary. wasn't too bad except for the religion class

Ahahaha, that's nothing. I'm in the process of compiling a 50 page paper as to my sentiments about Yahweh or Yeshua or whoever it is in the Catholic Pantheon that comes first, lol.

My first act in writing the paper is to ignore the prompt(s). I would suggest that you do the same ;]

Haha, we wrote 6 essays discussing the relative merits of certain philosophers and their arguments about morality. It was easier than I thought it'd be.

I'm sad, because next semester I have "Catholic Social Teaching." And that class just screams single-sided arguments and blanket opinions on how one should live one's life. Or at least, the teacher makes it seem that way.

i agree with one of the above posters..no one specifically said you had to understand the catholic way of seeing god... they can't punish for your agnostic belief nor can they make you write like you do believe...

I pity you guys who are forced to take a "religion"/theology course of some sort, and I'm a Christian for the most part.

Yep, Voyeur goes to church every single day! Yaaaay, sounds like big fun.

Oh well, about the OP's essay, just BS it, of course.

The one thing I hate about going to a catholic school is that we're required to have 4 religion credits....I've gotten a B in every one so far.

I know that colleges will most likely take them out of the GPA when they calculate it (right?) but they still count as grades here...which go into our GPA...which goes into our class rank!

Jesus

the Virgin Mary

Your religion teacher

Easy!

buzzardsbay - yeah same with my school :(

Must suck to be around all those Christians all the time...

oh wait my school is filled with Xtians as well.
