What is this essay for?

Bump.........

Give it another read and see if you can cut anything. It's better to be around 500 words. When you read a lot of essays in a row you get a feel for that length, so I don't think playing with the format will do much. However, if you find every word is necessary, don't worry about it. 723 isn't inappropriately long, especially if your writing is interesting.

Ha, I hope not! Mine is nearly 800 words!!! I don't care though... it's still under 1 page in length, and it's not like I violated any instructions (the common app only lists a MINIMUM number of words, not a max). So the admissions officers can take that piece of info and stick it in their hats. lmao

The Common App used to truncate extra words. Do they have you attach the file now?

A few extra words won't kill you. But odds are you could cut 200 out fairly easily and make it a better essay.

sorry if this is a little off topic, but do essay need to be single spaced or double?
