One Typo in Short Essay

So I’ve recently sent my application to Stanford. I worked very hard on and it was reviewed several times (parents, teachers, counselor, friends, etc.). However, when I went back to read it because I’m that kind of kid, I SAW I HAD ONE TYPO. It’s very small. I forgot to lower case the “i” in “Right”. It came out like this “RIght”.

I panicked and emailed Stanford if I could adjust the spelling . But now I feel like I raised concerns because it’s such a small/my only error and I just pointed it out.

What should I do? If they let me, I guess I’ll fix it but will they look at me differently (good way or bad way)? Should I tell them to disregard my previous email? I’m not sure. Please let me know. I know my mistake, I just need to make it this mistake as small as possible.

I would leave it alone. You shouldn’t have sent the email over such a minor error, but it is too late to change that. It would be overkill to email them again to ask them to disregard your last email, so just wait it out to see what they say.

Yeah, you’re right. I should’ve let it slide. But thank you for your insight.

This is truly not a problem. You’re fine.

Don’t ever email when you’re in panic mode. Make yourself step away, and take time to clear your head.

^ very good advice. I like to sleep on it as things do look different the next day.
