Well, seeing as we're all modernized and such and now a LOT more students are applying to universities/colleges online as opposed to the old fashioned "paper version"... do you guys reccomend applying online? Do colleges actually PREFER this to the paper version? Do most of you apply online or through the paperwork (printed?)

What if we are attaching extra materials (such as an art portfolio for art schools, music materials for music conserv., or extra recs & "EC" bragsheets?), do we simply send them seperately and pray they won't get lost?

I guess I'm a little confused on the whole proccess... can someone who has finished tell me how to go about doing it? :)

I'm going to do the paper version. >/ I don't like applying online. >] I bet you're a junior huh?

yeah :] but everyone says the online version is easier... keeping track of everything-wise, e-mail updates, and so forth...

I was going to do the paper version, but I realized I liked the online version better... It doesn't require me to lose things, which is something I do very often... And I realized I could keep up with them easier. (and pay online too.. and i save some money because i didn't send them postal.)

Whether you do paper or online version, you are going to have send supplementary materials through the post office and hope they don't get lost (in the paper version, you have to pray they don't lose paper application either though)

If school asks for them, they'll most likely tell you how to do it. (they'll have an application for supplementary materials, how to send it, etc etc) Yes, so if you do have an art portfolio (like I did (art major)) and want to send slides or something, you'll have to follow their directions and send it through the mail. None of my things got lost so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

yes, colleges prefer the online since it makes their work easier -- they can push a button, and the printer automatically makes xx copies for the committee.
