Online Calc BC or self-study?

I'm a junior now and taking calculus AB at my school. My school doesn't offer calc BC though, and I don't want to interrupt the calculus track by taking AP stats. So basically I'm between online calc BC or self-studying.

I need a math credit for senior year, so my teacher recommended I take an easier math course and self-study. I just worry I would lose motivation in an easier class which is why I'm considering the online. I also want to be as competitive as possible when I apply for colleges and scholarships.

Next year I'm also taking AP physics which means I need study time, and AP English which will be a lot of reading. Second semester I'm taking AP government, so I'll have 4 AP's if I take the online class along with year long band and online Spanish 2. I'm also doing marching band and keeping a job throughout the year.

So basically, online or self-study?

Could you take Calculus II at a local college? Are there any other juniors in Calculus AB? What are they doing next year?

Are you saying your school would give you credit for self-studying Calculus BC? If so, I think that’s the better option if you’re any good at math because you wouldn’t have to do assignments. It’s easier to lose motivation in an online class.

But colleges don’t expect you to take math classes your school doesn’t offer.
