Online Classes and the Ivy League

I am currently taking an online AP class, and I am truly not enjoying the online experience. I’m planning to not take an online class again.

The reason for my taking an online class was that I really wanted to try an AP class (I’m a sophomore) and my school is very small and doesn’t offer a wide range of classes—we have only three AP courses offered at my school, and you can’t take any of them until at least your junior year.

I am planning on applying to many of the Ivies and other top institutions. How will the admission committees view my application if they see that I have only taken one online class and none thereafter? Will they view it as not taking full advantage of the opportunities that are available to me? Are they expecting me to take more online AP classes considering my small school offers such a limited variety? Thanks in advance!

You are not expected to go above and beyond what is offered at your own school.

Agree with the above. You might also see if you can take any classes at your local CC – perhaps your HS has some dual-enrollment opportunities.
