just wondering...if you would not be able to make it to the college for the first week or so of a particular semester but are keen on studying during that semester, is it possible to take the courses online first and then taking the actual class after you have arrived?

I am almost sure that arriving one or two weeks late will not prevent you from taking classes during that semester with some advanced planning. Professors may e-mail you the syllabus or even class notes and you can just start studying for yourself. The first week of classes is mainly used for administrative stuff and a broad overview or introductory remarks (e.g. a historical background or a revision of key concepts of a prerequisite course) anyway, so you would not miss too much of the actual material.

Taking the first week of a class online and then switching to the actual class does not sound like a good idea. They may make you pay tuition for both courses and the online course may not be identical to the classroom-based course.

ok thanks =)
