I'm an incoming freshman for Fall '08. Can I take online classes over the summer? From my house?

And if I can, how much will that be? Still $92 per credit hour?

Just so you know..for some of the classes you have to take the tests on campus.

My guess would be no since you were admitted for the Fall. I would call up the university and ask academic advising or whoever directly though.

And gurlie does have a good point. Some classes do require you to take tests on campus.

Yea I wouldn't mind driving up for tests. But I'm going to call Academic Advising on Monday morning.

I think its possible. Just register for online classes only when you go to preview. The only problem is that not many classes are offered online (mostly gen ed stuff, and some business classes). As stated before you would have to drive up for the test. Disease of Eating and Intro to Medical Professions are totally online, but those are more of an elective. Stats, man foods, microeco, and macroeco are common online class w/ oncampus exams.

I think the going rate is $103/credit hour.

Bumping up this thread since I was just researching online/distance learning classes at UF and found out:
1) There are about 16 classes that you can take TOTALLY online (including exams) and
2) You are only allowed to accumulate 6 credits of distance learning (this does not apply to web classes that you register for on ISIS). To learn more about the LMS (completely online) classes go to: Online Courses - UF Correspondence Study

Click on the class you are interested in and then follow directions to enroll in it. You need your advisors approval first (the form is on the registration page) and make note, if you want to start it for summer session do NOT register until May 2.
