Online Course.... H Precalc, or APUSH????

Ok, here's the deal...
Originally I was planning this:

10th
AP Gov
H Bio
Pre-AP English
H Spanish 3
H Chinese 2
Latin 1
Algebra 2

11th
APUSH
AP Chem
AP Lang
H Spanish 4
H Chinese 3
H Latin 2
H Precalc

12th
AP Psych
AP Lit
AP Stat
AP Chinese
H Spanish 5
Ceramics (for the Fine Arts credit!)
TA ESOL (I want to major in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

BUT

Summer between 10th and 11th - H Precalc

11th
APUSH
AP Chem
AP Lang
**AP STAT (online)
H Spanish 4
H Chinese 3
H Latin 2
**Ceramics (for the Fine Arts credit!) (12th-->11th)

12th
AP Psych
AP Lit
AP Calc BC
AP Chinese
H Spanish 5
TA Chinese (I realllllyyy want to do this too!!! As you can see, I'm all up in the languages!)
TA ESOL (I want to major in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

Summary:
I take two online courses (H Precalc and AP Stat) (summer before 11th, and during 11th)
I get Fine Arts credit out of the way a year earlier
I get ahead in math (instead of reaching AP Stat, I would make it to AP Calc BC!)
I get to add being a TA in Chinese as well.

Thoughts?
Any cons I'm not seeing?!?

Do you have to take AP stats before taking AP Calc BC??? If not, then go with your second schedule, but take online AP Stats the summer before 12th grade and H PreCalc during junior year. So it would be H PreCalc – summer, online AP Stats – AP Calc BC (take both AP tests in May…)

edit: Or even take PreCalc and Stats concurrently during junior year, AP Stats online of course

But the second schedule seems much better because of your interests in TA

@livelaugh7‌ but then I will be waiting over 9 months from finishing the AP Stat course, to taking the AP Test :(

@Spiral7‌ So what if you take PreCalc H concurrently with AP Stats, but take AP Stats online??

I wouldn’t recommend taking any math class online. It’s really wretched and it’s easier in a classroom setting, but if you think that you can handle it then I would take it.

@livelaugh7 because then ceramics gets pushed back to 12th and I can only TA one class.

@tacoperson how is it wretched??

IMO, I like the second schedule, but I think it will be difficult to execute just because of the difficulty of taking classes online. H Precalc at my school is harder than AP Calc BC so if I were to take it online, it wouldn’t work out well.

Math is weird to work out on computers, and it’s not convenient to get paper out of your bookbag. How would you take notes? You can’t simply remember anything, and I personally learn more in a class setting.

What about this schedule:

11th
APUSH
AP Chem
AP Lang
H PreCalc
H Spanish 4
H Chinese 3
H Latin 2
Ceramics

Summer: ***take a class, like RSM or at a community college, on statistics. You don’t have to take the AP exam, just show your school that you know the material

12th
AP Psych
AP Lit
AP Calc BC
AP Chinese
H Spanish 5
TA Chinese
TA ESOL

ORRRRRRRR

Don’t take AP Stats. It is not necessary to take AP Calc BC.

@livelaugh7‌

OR

Summer between 10th and 11th - H Precalc

11th
APUSH
AP Chem
AP Lang
**AP STAT (online)
H Spanish 4
H Chinese 3
H Latin 2
**Ceramics (for the Fine Arts credit!) (12th–>11th)

12th
AP Psych
AP Lit
***AP Calc BC (online)
AP Chinese
H Spanish 5
++++++++H Latin 3 OR ___________
TA Chinese (I realllllyyy want to do this too!!! As you can see, I’m all up in the languages!)
TA ESOL (I want to major in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

NO MORE MATH CLASSES IN SCHOOLLLLL!!

I’ll think about it!
Thanks for your help!!

Actually, I would RECOMMEND taking math at school… (I don’t know if you were being sarcastic) You just don’t have to take AP Stats. I just wouldn’t recommend it online. See what your school will let you do.

@livelaugh7‌ For me, math class has and always will be, the WORST

Because once I get a concept… I GET IT!

If I am able to do it once, I could not do it for a year, and still get 100 on the test. I have fallen asleep in wayyyy to many math classes!! I have never asked a question in a math class room… EVER.

I’m not saying I’m ridiculously good at it, but I don’t need a teach to do 50 problems on the board. It’s a waste of my time!!! This is why it’s such a great opportunity for me.

@Spiral7‌ yeahhhhhh teachers do that a lot.

That’s why you do your Spanish and Physics homework in that class :)

But in all seriousness, you have to take in class. You would be surprised how much better you learn by actually being in the class. Believe me, I have tried.

You don’t really need any calculus if your goal is to teach english language learners

@CheddarcheeseMN‌ Yes, but I am overcompensating for getting a C in H Algebra 1, plus I’m actually good at math and this adds APs. AND more importantly frees up room.
