Online course in microeconomics?

Ah, that’s really neat!

The classes I’m considering are… AP US History, AP Environmental Science, and/or AP Economics. Are you in any of those?
I want to make up for my lack of rigorous courses this year… I’m only taking 2 AP classes, I was taking 3 but I dropped 1 (AP Econ) and I’m waaay too bored with school this year and want to make up for it.

I’m in APUSH and AP Economics.

APUSH is difficult. I have an 89.5 in the class right now:/

I would suggest that you take two. I wouldn’t do three. You want to have time to focus on your other school work too. Also, if you enroll in three classes at Keystone, you’re considered a full-time student.

Alright, thanks for the advice!

I might just take AP Psych on BYU (it’s only $248 on there) and APUSH on Keystone. Or I might just take both AP Psych and AP Bio on BYU…which would be $500 total. I think I’m being overoptimistic though because I literally just got my parents to agree to pay $248 for AP Psych (then there’s the textbook to pay for, too). So, I’m going to see just how much further I can push them… that or I’m going to figure out how to raise $250 in less than a month.

Well, if money is an issue, then I’d suggest that you do that. The cost of the courses at Keystone includes the book as well though. I think that it might be more because of the teacher services, ellumination sessions, clubs, and if you’re a full-time student, counselor.

You should definitely talk to your parents about your ideas. Maybe they can help you formulate some possible resolutions.

flvs is pretty good.

How good is CTY?

It’s more expensive, though.

If anyone is here, I realize that this thread is three years dead, but which online schools or providers can allow me to take ap classes online without me having to notify my school? My intention is that if I get accepted to a university, and of course they’ll expect me to send transcript(s) to them, then the online company I am signed up with will allow me to send a transcript there. Are there online providers that fit into this description other than BYU?

Several state colleges have dual-enroll Microeconomics classes. Check your local state college’s web site for more details.

Also, VHS Collaborative has an AP Economics course which teaches AP Micro and Macro in one year.

Lastly, Coursera is a website where colleges teach online courses. There are several microeconomics courses there. It is also free.

@jtm2292 Did you take AP Microeconomics at FLVS? How was your experience? Did the class adequately prepare you for the exam? How was the pacing of the class?

@Wartsandall‌ I know that this thread is from awhile ago but did you find that it was okay to take the AP’s back to back Mirco then Macro and then take the test the same year after completing the course?

@88Raider8 it’s kinda late but I know couple seniors in my school who took Micro then Macro class and took the AP exam for both that year

I have a feeling this thread will be closed soon…
