My mom was trying to submit the data...yesterday it said it she had to save until the FAFSA was downloaded by CMU. Today when the FAFSA showed on my "where am I" page, she tried again..the submit button for the CMU fin aid form appeared...but it said numbers had to be entered for sections d and e.
We don't have any fields showing on the online application for these fields..(and if we did,,the numbers would be zero...).

Is anyone else able to access the online form and do you see a section d and e...or is there a gliche there-- just a colored yellow/purple splotch where the section should be to enter the requested numbers?

I just called – we saw the same invisible fields as well… Admissions receptionist said the form isn’t live yet-- just being tested this week…she said to try next week and not to worry – we have until Feb 15.

She did say to fax the signature page as that is NOT online.

how are we supposed to report 2009 financial information when we haven’t received our tax info yet…? because their financial aid form requires this information… Is Feb 15th the ABSOLUTE deadline?

collage0fun - I emailed admissions/finacial aid and they said they are flexible on dates - submit what you have as soon as you can and the followup with pieces as you complete. I am in the same boat because interest statements don’t come out until 2/15 so we can’t finish our taxes until we receive them.

FEBRUARY 15 IS THE DEADLINE FOR:
Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Carnegie Mellon Financial Aid Application
Signature page of CM Financial Aid Application

AND THE FOLLOWING CAN BE TURNED IN AFTER FEBRUARY 15:
Parent/s’ Federal Income Tax Return
Parent/s’ W-2 Forms
Student’s Federal Income Tax Return

I called when the fax was backed up…the receptionist said they will likely contact us for the hard copy as most faxed tax forms have insufficient resolution to verify.

I’d mail the copy as well.
Do make sure the FAFSA is received and the CMU forms…that is most critical to get the package formed.
The tax forms are for verification purposes…but don’t really hold up having a package created.

I faxed mine and they had it processed the next day.

“Do they not accept e-mailed .pdfs?”

I would never email colleges anything. Emails go through a long process which may take more than a week. Also, admissions reps don’t check emails instead some secretary does.

I tried faxing the signature several times and even with the redial function it just rang busy - so I mailed it yesterday - regular mail. Ugh - forgot about Monday holiday - so they probably won’t get until Tuesday.

For the people that mailed in the tax/w2 forms, did it show up on the “Where am I in the Process” page pretty quickly? My son mailed the forms on February 8 and it still hasn’t showed up on that page.

We faxed our forms and then after these did NOT show up on WAMITP, we called last ewek and they said the fax was backed up so we should also snail mail the forms b/c chances are it would be of poor quality (I wrote this last week) and they’d ask for hard copies eventually. That was over 10 days ago…

On Friday, finally the WAMITP shows the “Non-filer” statement for the student and an “exempt” under the Student’s Tax form. However, the parents’ 1040 is still not showing as having been received. I called again today and they said they have our forms (as evidenced by another entry on WAMITP showing receipt of financial information under the section “documents received” rather than in the “financial documents” section.) The receptionist said that the parents’ 1040 will show up as received once they actually process it. I asked how could the student’s forms be processed but not parents’ forms since they were all in the same envelope/fax…she said, when they actually use the form to create the package, it will then show on the page. This sounded weird… she said I could phone again in a week to make sure there were no problems. Seemed weird to me…

Are you seeing anything listed for your son’s forms? I’d call…

From my experience with my D two years ago… we never checked WAMITP this regularly – but I don’t remember why we didn’t at the time.
In the end, everything went smoothly…which I suspect it will again.

I never receive any indication that they are bothered by phone calls…they are always helpful …so I would just call and confirm…especially if you don’t see any entry of the fax under any section of WAMITP.

Thanks for your reply. I got a response to an email query and they asked that I wait until the end of the week and check online again as they are hoping to get most everything entered by then. If I don’t see it online by the end of the week, I will take your suggestion and call them.

LASTONE, I mailed the CMU financial aid form, non filers form for student, parent 2009tax returns and W2 forms Feb 8th and they all show up on Where Am I In the Process as of Feb 20th. That is 10 days after the packet was delivered by the post office.

I mailed it certified on February 8 and USPS is still not showing it as delivered… but this is not the first time that the post office has missed scanning an item of mine at it’s destination point, so I’m not assuming yet that it didn’t arrive there. All the other items I sent out on that date arrived at their destinations on the 11th. The post office won’t check into things until some more time passes, so hopefully it will just show up there before that.

Same here LASTONE, I sent out 7 packets delivery confirmation and a few still say undelivered but the colleges have them listed as recieved in their statuses…I am not sure why I paid for the service… I was nervous about it I guess. I am sure you will see yours show up in Where Am I very soon. Good luck!

I called today-- oddly our tax forms show as posted but not the w2s…all in the same fax and snail mail packet.

They told me they have different people verifying each component and they post as they go…and were as of today up to posting materials from Feb 13…

Curious…has anyone in EA or ED pool yet seen a package on the WAMITP page?

mom2012and14:
WAMITP was updated on the 24th for my son and shows all the docs including the W2 and Schedule A as being entered on the same date. He is an RD applicant

mumof2boyz:
of the 5 that I sent out certified, only one showed as not delivered(and actually was) but I also wonder why I bother to pay for a service that only works sometimes
