Wanted to know if anyone can recommend any good online Pre-Calc courses to take over the summer?

Son is in Alg2/Trig as a Soph in HS and will have Pre-Calc next year, but wants to prepare a bit as math does not come naturally to him.

He cannot take it at a college as we do not live in the U.S and he has to work 3 weeks this summer.

You can try looking at some of the khanacademy’s videos on youtube. Many people feel that his videos are helpful, although I personally find that he doesn’t fully cover large topics and his videos about certain subjects are very spread out. Anyway, here’s his channel:

You could also try getting him a textbook or asking his school to borrow one.

Florida Virtual School (free to FL residents; not sure about out-of-state pricing) is pretty good. If your state has a similar program, you should look into it.

In all honesty though, if your son is paying attention and keeping up with Algebra II and Trig, he should be fine in pre-calc, because 92% of what you do in pre-calc is the SAME exact thing that you do in Algebra II and Trig.

try a UC-Berkeley extension program (great pre-calc program):

I’m in Precalculus 2 off BYU Independent Study having already finished the first half. I would say the course is pretty good, but it gets very hard in the last semester. You have to memorize every trig identity and there is a large section on discreet math that I have heard is hard to learn by yourself.

oh and puggly123 is right…BYU’s program is also awsome…take a look

I’m doing the same thing as your son. Personally, I’m using Virtual Virginia. There are numerous resources to use.
