if you work that out, it's about 1050 per year that are accepted!

<p>no.....they accept more than 1050 b/c they realize that not everyone is going to matriculate. so they accept somewhere around 2000 and hope that around 1000 will stick to Dartmouth</p>

<p>lol... Newbyreborn, if you get into Princeton, Yale, MIT, Harvard, and Dartmouth, can you attend all the schools at the same time?</p>
<p>Students are in the RD admissions process for vaious reasons </p>

[<em>]the want /need choice in the admissions process as they don't want to commit to one school

[li]Deferred during ED/EA[/li][/ul]</p>
<p>The school knows that everyone who is admitted RD is not going to attend Dartmouth so they will 2000 admit students in order to have a class of approximately 1070 students (53% yeild)</p>
<p>Sometimes more people admit than planned (With 1146 members in the Class of 2005, this year's group of incoming freshmen will be Dartmouth's largest in history )</p>
<p>I remember when D was accepted to Williams last year, they actually did not meet their yeild so they accepted approximately 30 studnets from the waitlist (I know D and atleast 4 of her friends turned down Williams for Dartmouth).</p>
