Only 3 years of science, top schools?

Do top colleges care if you only take three years of science, if science is not your focus and if you're taking challenging classes senior year otherwise? My D's high school adviser says they don't care, but many of those schools say they recommend 4 years of science.

Thanks!

No, unless your prospective major is a STEM field, and as long as the course selections make sense for what the student wants to study.

I agree with the others, that it will not hurt you if you do not intend to major in the sciences and you take challenging classes.
