Only a Freshman, but can you tell me if I'm on track for Ivy?

I just moved to this new town, and I am taking all honors classes. I finished will 5 A's and 3 B's. These is the worst grades I have ever gotten and I am extremely disappointed in myself. I've promised myself not to get another B ever again. My dream is to go to a Ivy league school such, especially Harvard or Princeton. But I'm not sure if I can still get in with such bad freshman grades.
I am a First Gen Asian student (specifically Pakistani)
I play soccer on the school team
I play volleyball
My GPA weighted is: 3.87 (planning on getting that up)
unweighted:3.62
I am in robotics, debate, FBLA, student council, Key club, Model UN, ect.
I am volunteering at my local hospital during the summer and going to JHU CTY

I took a practice ACT and I got a 25 with no prep. Is that good for my age?

Please help me and tell me what I can do to get into an Ivy league school

Well, you can’t just “promise yourself” that you’ll never get another B. A 25 ACT is, honestly, not a good score for an ivy. Try for a 32/33 at least. Your EC’s aren’t very unique at all.
Sorry. Doesn’t look good, but hey - it’s a crap shoot. Maybe you have a shot at cornell.

He’s a freshman!! I’m sure he can improve his ACT score in the next two years…

You’re still a freshman so you still have ( a lot ) of time. A 25 is fair for a freshman. Aim for a 32-34 by application time. Do some more interesting ECs. Start something! Whether it be starting a club that helps fund the needy, or something else you’re passionate about, you definitely need more flair in your EC’s. Remember, it’s quality. Not quantity. Colleges aren’t going to be impressed if you’re a member of twenty clubs, however, they will be impressed if you work super hard on a specific EC and make it stand out and create an impact.

At this moment, you really don’t seem like a strong applicant for the Ivies, but thankfully you can change that. Good luck!

Get off this forum and do something productive (and by productive, I mean something that has an impact, like what the poster above said). You can’t get more B’s btw. Come back in 3 years and post your results. I’m only writing posts here tonight because I’m extremely bored. In all seriousness, it’s way too early to tell where you will end up in. Enjoy your time in high school and always take advantage of new opportunities (easier said than done). Sometimes, I wish I could go back in time to my freshmen year; if so, I would have put a lot more dedication into everything that I did (from academics to activities to just hanging out with friends). You have lots of time, but remember that your time is limited.

For an elite school, your extra credits look pretty generic to me. Starting this summer if you can, certainly in the fall, get involved in something that shows off your personality a little more – as long as it’s not something like video games.

Can I have some examples of interesting EC’s to show my “flair”?

Also, will the ivies really take freshman year into account? If I don’t get any more B’s will I have a higher chance of acceptance because of the drastic improvement? What else can I do to go to any Ivy like Harvard or Princeton?

Princeton somewhat disregards freshman year. But obviously all of them look at it. It isn’t your be all end all though in any case. But it’s way too soon to chance you.

And just as a tip, don’t get hung up on the ivy league just cause it’s the ivy league, there are a lot of schools that could be better fits. Question /why/ you want to apply to a certain school. If reputation & name-dropping is the main reason, you haven’t researched enough.

I know they are the best schools around, so I knew I wanted to go there. I’m really interested in BME. I’m also looking into Johns Hopkins University. Is this school just as hard to get into?
