Lol, just wanted to get your guys' attention. I just wanted to start a new RD roster because I'm really sick of stats. I would appreciate it if you all put down your name (s/n or real, it doesn't matter), where you're from, and what you're considering majoring in.

I'll go first:

LiquidPaper, Minnesota, Biology or Neuroscience

Btw, if you guys feel like adding anything else, like why you're applying, etc., feel free to add it. JUST NO STATS! Your statistics aren't a true representation of who you are, in my humble opinion.

LiquidPaper, Minnesota, Biology or Neuroscience

Mellowjello, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Economix

LiquidPaper, since you're minnesota native, I'm guessing you've visited St. Paul. I was hoping you could tell me does it snow all year round, or do we see the Sun once in a while?

hehe

it snows terribly in the winter

the spring and fall are gorgeous. the summer is deathly hot and humid

That sounds wonderful (dripping sarcasm!).

To answer your question mellojello (as belated as it may be), we are occasionally blessed with the presence of the sun, but only for a limited period of time. It's really not that horrible. Who doesn't love winter from November to April? Really, though, I think Minnesota just has a bad rep. Our winters may be more brutal and a little prolonged, but at least we have 4 seasons! :)

Btw, I am absolutely loving the internationalism on the Macalester board! Makes me love the school even more.

and for the rest of you-- are you all set on mac or are you holding out for another school? and are any of you planning on visiting mac in april on an overnight stay?

o, and im into either theatre or english-- not really sure yet. maybe major in english and minor in theatre.

and im amazed and really excited by the different countries represented on the board. i cant wait to get out there and go to college!

I go to Broughton. IR/Polisci is really going to be my main track, although I'm looking to acquire some new languages too (as well as maintaining the ones I currently have under my belt, i.e. french & german).

I've been thinking about Russian, actually.

thats awesome-- me too. ive gotten spanish under control but really want to branch out, at least into french. i have a friend from st. petersburg, and russian is a beautiful language. ever seen the movie "russian ark"? its a study on history and art that takes place entirely in the hermitage-- you might really enjoy it. also, are you fo' sho' going to mac?
