Well my friend was planning on having UC Davis as his safety, but visited the campus and hated it.

He recently visited UW and loved it. And I was wondering if the school could be his safety.

He has a 4.0UW, and is our valedictorian. His course load was the most demanding...HL Pre-Calc, AP Euro, AP Eng Lang, AP Calc, HL Chem, AP US History, AP Stats, AP Gov, AP Econ, AP Eng Lit.

And his SAT score was 2100 on his first try without studying at all.

So is he basically a guarantee at UW?

Sounds like he has a great shot at getting in. I'm sure that he's got competitive ECs and volunteer service. If he writes a strong essay, I'd say he's going to get in fairly easily and should consider applying to the UW Honors Program.

I would say that for out of state, no one is guaranteed admission, but your friend has a good shot. Is he a rising senior? How is it that they've already decided he's valedictorian?

Second the motion to look into the Honors program. It doesn't cost any more to apply there as well, just needs an extra essay, I think.
