As an OOS student, I graduate later than CA schools so I will be unable to attend the first Summer Orientation sessions. I called UCLA and they informed me that they hold special OOS/International orientation sessions in September right before school starts. The woman stated that seats in classes will be reserved for this later session so I will not be disadvantaged when registering. Has anybody registered during the OOS session and can tell me if I actually have a fair shot at desirable classes?

I think most of the UCs have implemented procedures to release certain number of seats in required core/GE courses with the orientations. You should be fine.
