Is that a super score? If so, what is your best M+CR from one sitting?

It looks like your weighted GPA and your SAT (if from one sitting) is high enough for a half-tuition merit scholarship from Alabama plus $1500 per year from eng’g.

you must apply soon to get this merit…apply now.

That would be under your budget.

Your budget does limit your OOS choices. It doesn’t sound like you’d qualify for need-based aid other than a $5500 student loan if your parents will pay $30k per year.

I only took the SAT once so this is from one sitting so I guess I’ll look at alabama. Also, my parents can’t pay 30k and since I have another sibling in college at the moment I will get a bit of need based aid. My guidance counselor encouraged me to apply to WPI so that’s why it made the cut.

Missouri S&T I believe is right around $30k. I visited there and it’s a really nice school and has really strong engineering programs. They have good merit scholarships as well, but the priority deadline has passed (Dec 1) so fill out the app asap if you need aid. It’s an easy app though, no essays or recs needed.

how much can they pay? the way you worded your post, it sounded like your parents will pay up to $30k. Now it sounds like they’ll pay a lot less. How much will they pay? Ask them!

As for getting need based aid…that will be from schools that give aid. many schools don’t give much need-based aid…even if you have a sibling in college.

Your M+CR is good, but it’s not high enough for much merit at many schools.

yes, apply to Alabama. the half-tuition scholarship plus 1500 will really cut costs down.
