Anyone familiar with “average” merit awards given out at UNH? My son is VERY interested in UNH but I am worried it’s not going to be affordable. He has a 3.64 GPA (Junior year he hit a bump) and superscored SAT of 1400. (700/700). Anyone with similar stats that has been offered merit? Applied for engineering.
TIA
My impression from reading other responses on this topic is to expect none.
Ugh. Gross. But ty for the reply.
HLGC yeah, I could be wrong but based on what I’ve read and what those who have gone before me with experience have told me…“don’t expect $$.” I’ve been told by those who have already gone through it that land grant universities will not be giving money to out of state but that if seeking merit money look to the private institutions. If you are looking for Engineering check out Union College in Schenectady, NY and Clarkson University in northern NY. Both have a great student population and I know students with stats like yours who have received great $$. Both have the student life I bet you are looking for if you like UNH. Clarkson has very cold weather but someone I know who is in engineering there says the students are great. I know several at Union and it also has a great student population and social life. Great schools. Yes expensive but you might get the right amount of money from them.
Ty! That was very nice of you. I will start googling those places now.
