OOS transfer chances as a junior?

Hey guys, what's up? Although I'm happy and content at my current school, Elon, I'm thinking of transferring. I applied and was accepted for spring semester at UMD as a high school senior. If I apply, it will be for the fall, the start of my junior year. What do you think my chances are?

Personal:
Male from a competitive public school in NY state.
URM- Hispanic

College:
gpa- right now it's a 3.0 because I really messed up as a first semester freshman, but by the end of this semester I should have a 3.2-3.3 and after winter term I should have a 3.3-3.4. I've gotten all A's within my major, communications.

Freshman year:
Work at Campus Recreation, Work at the Elon Poll, S.M.A.R.T. (Multicultural) Program, Indoor soccer intramurals
Over the summer: work at Home Depot

Sophomore:
Work at Campus Recreation, Reporter for the school newspaper, I have my own radio show, and very soon I'm either going to become involved in an award-winning school television production or join the ultimate frisbee team

High school:
GPA- 89.1?, so about a 3.5 uw
SAT- 570 CR, 600 M, 670 W, 11 essay 1170/1840
6 honors classes taken, 2 ap, 5 ib
AP- 3- English Lang
Solid activities

As a junior transfer, your high school stats won’t be looked at. I don’t know what GPAs they are looking for in transfer students, but it may cause you some issues, especially since you are OOS.

ohhh ok didn’t know about high school stats not being looked at - thank you. But does being accepted (for the spring) as a high school senior give me any leverage or increases my chances a lot? Because in a letter I remember it saying “let us know if you change your mind and decided to go to MD,” or something like that.

anyone? i think i might email them and ask this directly.

I would call/email them directly since they still might have your application from back then.

bp, thank you very much.
