I live in Texas and I'm not completely sold on going to UT. My GPA is probably going to be around a 3.7. I plan on trying to transfer for the Spring 09 semester either as a business or economics major. I was hoping someone could give me some info on transfer OOS Financial Aid packages, like if they were happy with their packages, or which schools traditionally give good packages.

Schools...
Illinois
Indiana
Michigan St.
Minnesota
Purdue
Washington
Wisconsin

I'm telling you right now that you are unlikely to receive any type of need based grant money from any of those schools. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin all have very limited funds and they almost always go to candidates who represent a minority group. I am less familiar with Washington but I can tell you it's unlikely they have funds judging by US News numbers.

These schools attract OOS students through big freshman scholarships, there is no lure for transfer students outside of Minnesota's low OOS tuition (13,000). In-state 2-year schools have articulation agreements with many 4-year colleges and are set up for students to stay in-state to transfer.

The only schools that actually have grant money floating around to give to students are private schools, and out of all the private schools, only about 20 actually give out "good" aid packages where 100% of the applicant's need is met.
