OOS Transfer

I applied as a transfer for the Fall 2009 semester with a 3.86 GPA with 75 credits amassed to Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD. I am coming from a community college out of state so it will be very competitive for me due to the California community college first dib's preference/other California schools (articulation agreements). Then second preference is saved for UC transfers (other UC schools). So with this being said I am last on the list. However my stats are good in my opinion.

Stats = 3.86 GPA, worked at a neuroscience lab, advertised and marketed for a sports company, participated in Hurricane Katrina gives back, tutored math/chemistry, camp counselor, and all of this was during my college yrs. The only thing is I haven't been in school for two yrs. since summer 2007 due to financial hardships/family reasons, but what I did with my time off (listed above should definitely help me significantly).

Please give me any feedback! Thnx David BTW my major is biochemistry w/ a Spanish major involved

Honestly, your chances are merely OK - not great. Many in-state applicants, who are prioritized by the way, apply with similar stats to yours.

Your stats are really good, but I agree with grey, because you're oos, your changes are merely ok. Are you planning on lots of aid from the UCs? I'm asking since it sounds like you might have taken time off from school to work and help out your family. I'll probably end up doing the same thing, so I feel your pain. But the UCs are very bad with financial aid for oos kids, even if their need is very high. I know you are probably well aware of this, but I just wanted to mention it.

Also, as a side note, did you go to William and Mary? I'm only asking because of your username...
