Oos tuition/financial aid helppppp

<p>i have just been given the offer to be put on the waiting list
ohio state is my first choice but my parents are unsure if they will afford to pay for the oos tuition.
the problem is i will not know how much financial aid i will recieve until i am admitted into the university and the latest i will find out about being admitted off of the waiting list is june 1.
i was wondering how much financial aid i will probably recieve being oos.
is osu generous with its oos financial aid?
i called the admissions office and they said that the cost of room and board and tuition will be around 35,000. and that does not include books and the plane tickets and stuff so it will still be more expensive and my parents said they will probably only be able to afford 24,000.
do you think i can still get enough financial aid?</p>

<p>Did you complete a FAFSA form on time? If so, financial aid will take the total cost of attendance (COA) and deduct whatever they determine to be your family’s expected contribution (EFC). The difference is your unmet need. EFC really depends on your family income. </p>

<p>OSU doesn’t really bridge the gap between COA and EFC, i.e. the total unmet need but they try to give some of it. They might give you some loans, or need based grants, for next year in relationship to your unmet need. </p>

<p>I don’t think the financial aid awards will be out for another month though.</p>

<p>@caolila:Financial aid awards should be available anytime now. On tOSU’s website they state that financial aid awards will be available by the end of march. It wouldn’t make sense for them to not be released for another month since decision day is may 1st.</p>

<p>austria11 That would be great if it happens! I keep looking every day…</p>

<p>Incoming freshmen get their financial aid posted lots sooner than returning students.</p>

<p>Caolila, financial aid awards are in!</p>

<p>but they said that they can’t let me know about how much financial aid i would recieve until i am admitted to the school cause i am still on the waiting list.
they said that the latest they’d let me know if i am admitted is june 1</p>

<p>I think financial aid for new students is going up now, but not necessarily returning students. Mine is still blank. :(</p>
