When is the RSVP?? I have sadly misplaced my folder and have subsequently destroyed my room in the search for it. I really hope it hasn't passed. Oh, also, does anyone know what to expect?

The website is www.wellesley.edu/admission/SOC. It has a lot of information on there, including a schedule, and you can register.

Hopefully, a better situation than the last Open Campus. Last year, a water main broke and we had no water (at all) for more than twelve hours. I had two propsies with me, that night, and ... it was awkward.

Other than that, expect to have a lot of people talking to you all at once. There's a big concert/performance thing every year, if you're interested in learning about the orchestra, choir, a capella groups, music department groups, and such.

My main advice about Open Campus is not to be intimidated by lunch the first day. If they do it the way they did last year, you will just walk into a dining hall, get lunch, and there will be designated people (probably clearly marked) who you can talk to during lunch about life at Wellesley.

Now, I wasn't completely clear on that, and I was so confused and overwhelmed that I ended up not eating lunch. Don't do that. There's a lot of stuff going on- you can attend as little or as much of it as you like. If you think a walk around Lake Waban will be more useful to you than a concert, then by all means, take a walk.

BTW, I met my roommate at SOC :).

that sounds great if a little overwhelming! fingers crossed all water pipes remain sturdy and full of clean water.

does open campus cost anything to stay overnight? i know at ucla and berkeley theres a fee to stay overnight in the dorms...

I don't think Wellesley pays for anything...

There's no fee involved, beyond travel (and Wellesley is even paying for that for some).

are you with your parents the entire time, or are you always separate? (I love my family, but it would be cool if this was more of an individual experience)

It depends on what you want to do...I'm not even bringing my parents.

me too!! I'm going by myself

yeep, i'm leaving mine home too

raises hand

meee tooooo!

My parents are tagging along! :) I don't mind; they are pretty cool cats (in my opinion). Although this thread does make me think that I should have a talk with them about not doing the same thing as me all day :)

I'm genersouly allowing one to hang out with me for one day. Then they have to leave my prescence. :P

i'm bringing my dad- but he's usually content to just wander around and pretend he's in college (which may be hard at wellesley :))

Haha..I'm so excited..I feel like I should be prepared with questions about the school and the opportunities, etc..Blah..I'll probably forget them once I get there.

Does anyone know which amtrak/train to take from Wellesley/near Wellesley to NJ on the 25th? Or the station/stop where the Wellesley bus will drop us off if we're taking the train?

I'm leaving today (for Philly, will later go to Boston)! See you all at Wellesley on Sunday!

Ugh, missing four days of school=lots of make up tests, homework, and screwed for APs
