Okay, so I know it probably gets annoying hearing similar stories of people asking for advice and opinions on their stats, but I hope you guys understand that no matter how much you read about others stories and see advice for them, you always feel like your path is completely diffrent and want advice that is specific for your goals, so hang with me.

I am currently a student at Wright college, a CC in Chicago, definitely one of the better ones here. I went into college with no intention of transferring, but midway through last semester, I just felt a change and a real desire to excel in school. Now I'm not looking into an IVY schools or anything, but I am looking for good schools. Good business schools to be exact. I really liked Econ, but I'm not 100% if thats exactly where I want to go. Finance and accounting are definitely options when it comes to picking my major. The specific school I'm looking to get into is Ross at Michigan. This is my absolute top priority, and I know it's a stretch (I think it's website said only 1% of incoming students were transfers), but aiming high is exactly what I want to do at this point, and I am willing to take all advice and commit to doing all I can to increas my chances. I read USNews reports about the top business schools, so basically all those schools are on my list of hopefuls. In the chance that I can't make it into any of these, I'm hoping I will have much much better chances at the local level, with schools like UIC and Depaul.

Here is what my college path has looked like

First semester: Taken at Malcolm X college (another Chicago CC)
Emergeny Medical Technician - C - 6 credit hours
Weight Training - A - 2 credit hours
Spanish 101 - A - 4 credit hours

Second semester: Started at Wright with A&P class at Malcolm
English 101 - A - 3 credit hours
Social Science 101 - B - 3 credit hours
Humanities 123 - A - 3 credit hours
Anatomy and Physiology - C - 4 credit hours

Third semester: All classes at Wright
English 102 - A - 3 credit hours
Philosophy 106 - A - 3 credit hours
Philosophy 108 - A - 3 credit hours
Econ 201 - A - credit hours

Fourth semester: upcoming Spring

Econ 202
Math 143 - Pre Calculus (far behind unfortunately)
Business 181 (Financial Accounting)

current GPA: 3.37

I've been on the honors list twice and Presidential Scholars once (which just means I got all A's that last semester. I recieved the SGA scholarship award this past semester as well. I had no extra curriculars, but that third semester I was working almost full time at about 35+ hours a week. But that's definately something I will be getting involved with next year, I already have a few clubs in mind, and I've also been putting some volunteer hours in through partnerships at work. Hopefully by next semester I will be in Phi Theta Kappa as well. Also, I am looking to recieve certification as a CPR instructor by March, and this way, it would almost be like starting my own mini business teaching CPR on the side.

High school transcript would be crap, I started out really well, with honors classes and even double honors classes my sophmore year. But I transfered and then pretty much failed out of the high school I was at. Really, really dumb, there's honestly no telling where I would be right now if I would have kept my head in the game during high school. However, I don't think my high school transcript is needed because by the time I apply, I will have well over 36 transferable credit hours. So down to the questions.

My first question would be about the transferable GPA's. How much to universities care about the grade you earned in classes that are not transferable? For example that EMT class I took I don't believe can be transfered and it was a 6 credit hour class which is pretty heavy and brought down my overall GPA. If that is omitted, then I know my transferable GPA will be much higher, but it would be a shame if they see it and it counts against me. On the flip side, Pre Cal won't count either, so basically if I get an A in this class, it won't help my transferable GPA and gives one less math grade for them to look at, which I kinf of need at this point.

My other question would be about timing of my tansfer app. This would be my fourth semester at a CC, but due to my class selection first semester, and the fact that I have only taken around 12-13 credit hours each semester, its equivalent to what for most is the end of their first year. So The soonest I can probably apply for business schools would be for spring 2012, and in the case of Ross, their business program doesn't start until Fall, meaning I wouldn't really be starting until Fall 2012. That's a lot of time from now until then and I'm thinking if there's a better option. Would anyone recommend me applying to these schoold for regular admission first, and then trying to apply for the business school a semester later? Are your chances of getting into said business school better if you already attend their university?

Thanks to all that read this. Any opinions and advice are appreciated. I am full of energy and hope at this point in my life, so I truly mean it when I say I am willing to commit to do what it takes to make me a top transfer candidate.
